Bihar News:  The portal for applying for the financial year 2024-25 under the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneur Scheme closed on Friday. 541667 applications have been received under this scheme. Most applications have come for cyber cafes and IT business centers. According to the information received from the Industry Department, 79266 applications have been made for cyber cafes and IT business centers.

The number of applicants from the backward class is the highest among cyber cafe owners after young entrepreneurs 

Among the applications received by the Industry Department for opening cyber cafes and IT business centers, after the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Scheme, the highest number of applicants, 24,134, are from the backward class. Under the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Scheme, 26084 applications have been received for cyber cafes.

In the scheme for SC-ST group, the number of applicants for cyber cafe is 14723. Women have also shown interest in starting a cyber cafe business. According to the data of the Industry Department, 10309 women have applied for cyber cafe. One segment of the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneur Scheme is the Chief Minister’s Minority Entrepreneur Scheme. 4016 applications have been received for this.

Readymade garment business is at second place 

Under the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, there is a provision of loan up to five lakh rupees and maximum subsidy of five lakh rupees. After cyber cafe and IT business center, the second most interested enterprise is the readymade garment sector.

According to the Industry Department, 56697 people have applied for this sector. Among them, 9970 have applied for SC-ST scheme, 14159 people from extremely backward class, 9647 under Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Scheme, 18450 under Chief Minister Women Entrepreneur Scheme and 4471 people have applied for Chief Minister Minority Entrepreneur Scheme.

Sattu, Masala, File Folder and Dhaba Restaurants in top five sectors 

The top five sectors that have received applications under the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana include cyber cafes, sattu, flour and spice production, restaurants, dhabas and enterprises for preparing files, folders and notebooks. 33047 applications have been received for setting up units of flour, gram flour and sattu. The number of applications for opening dhabas and restaurants is 30711.
